White paper Long-term investing in public equity markets

As pension funds, asset managers, consultants and companies increasingly agree to forego short-term profit for long-term value creation, and consider the societal impact of capital allocation, a new paper, Long-term investing in public equity markets: what does success look like… and how to organise it?, by Jaap van Dam and Lars Dijkstra, members of the 300 Club, argues it’s time to move beyond the ‘why’ question and consider the implementation of the ‘how’ of successful long-term investing.

The authors take a step-by-step practical approach to overcoming key challenges in creating a model for successful pension fund investing. This includes minimising principal-agent problems, cultivating a constitutional philosophy, creating appropriate metrics and aligning fee structures.
