Kempen is pleased to announce the successful sale of RBCIF datacenters to The Datacenter Group

Transaction highlights

- Rabobank Bouwfonds Communication Infrastructure Fund (RBCIF) has sold their data center portfolio to The Datacenter Group
- The datacenter portfolio consists of two Tier III compliant datacenters located in Nieuwegein and Rotterdam, with a total of 4,700 m² IT space
- Kempen acted as sole financial adviser to RBCIF in this controlled auction process, which attracted a wide range of strategic and financial parties. Kempen has a long-standing relationship with RBCIF and coordinated the process in such way to limit the remaining liabilities for the closed-end fund  

Company description

- RBCIF is a Dutch infrastructure investment fund focused on telecommunication assets, which held a portfolio consisting of fiber optic networks, telecommunication towers and datacenters. Following the sale of CIF Holding and CAIW to EQT Infrastructure, this transaction marks the last divestment of RBCIF’s ten-year fund
- The Datacenter Group was founded in 2007 by Siemon van den Berg (CEO The Datacenter Group), Ali Niknam (CEO bunq) and Raymond Kasiman (CTO TransIP). The company currently owns and operates two datacenters in Delft and Amsterdam
- This transaction doubles The Datacenter Group’s data center portfolio and it becomes the largest regional data center provider in the Netherlands
